Amazon.com Review The Olympus I Zoom 75's sleek, lightweight form, zoom lens, and splashproof construction make it an ideal camera for travelers who want the advantages of the Advanced Photo System in a quality package. The compact 75 is protected in a splashproof metallic-looking cover, and sports a slimmer version of the Olympus signature sliding-clamshell case, allowing this model to fit easily in to a pocket. The only disadvantage to this camera's compactness is that the self-timer and flash buttons are a little hard to press since they're so small. The Olympus I Zoom 75's multi-autofocus system helps produce the best photos possible--we found the camera did a good job of focusing even when our subject wasn't dead center. The flash gave us a choice of auto, red-eye reduction, fill-flash, night scene, and off modes. The night-scene mode allows you to sync the flash with a slow shutter speed so that you can take portraits with a night scene in the background. The zoom lens--a bonus on such a compact camera--has a 28 to 75mm equivalent range, good for everything from wide-angle landscapes, to portraits and medium close-ups. The Olympus I Zoom 75 is extremely easy to use, especially since it uses the Advanced Photo System (APS) format. APS film is a snap to load; no messing with film leaders, or alignment of cartridges, as the film just drops in and loads automatically. The APS format lets you take regular, wide-screen, and panoramic photos on the same roll, and your processed prints will include an index print, with thumbnails of every shot, for easy reprinting. Pros: - Ultra compact form
- Zoom lens
- APS format
- Wide range of flash modes
Cons: - Certain buttons are too small

Combining film handling ease with quality optics and sophisticated, ultra-compact, all weather design, the i Zoom 75 is truly advanced. High-performance 28-75 mm Zoom Lens A 28-75 mm 2.7 zoom lens (equivalent to the 35-94 mm coverage of a 35 mm camera)with two new aspherical lens elements not only ensure high resolution, but also contribute to the reduced size and weight of the lens. The new slim-line lens barrier and ruby-gold finish highlight the elegant contours that create a stylish, futuristic look. The flash system has several sensors that collect information about the required illumination. It not only triggers the flash automatically in dim light or backlighting, but also adjusts the intensity for situations such as macro shooting setting that often leads to overexposure. There are also six versatile flash modes that make it easy for anyone to take great flash photographs. - Auto, Red-Eye Reduction, Flash Off, Fill-in, Night Scene, Red-Eye Reducing Night Scene Three frame formats C (Classic) for standard print, H (HDTV) for a print with the same ration as a wide-screen televisions or P(Panorama) for panorama prints. A magnetic head automatically records shooting data that includes the date/time, frame format, subject brightness and other information in the film's magnetic tracks.

A sleek and handy little camera that isn't shy about water October 25, 1999 158 out of 160 found this review helpful
If you need a very compact, easy camera to operate and load, this guy fills the bill. I found it easy to slip into my pocket, almost forgetting it was there! It has a great zoom, long and SHARP. Since I spend lots of time outdoors, and sail, splashing water rolls right off. Waves which left me drenched - I just washed the camera in the sink. NO PROBLEM. If I need big prints, larger than the normal snap shots, I find 35mm is better than ANY APS, but the film is easy to load. The super compact size paired with easy to use ergonomics makes me think these people know how to make real cameras. The crisp color and sharp detail makes the pictures ones you are proud to show. If you want great pictures in a small package, they don't come any better than this. Now if I can get it back from my daughter...
Easy Fantastic Pictures December 5, 1999 A.T. (Washington, DC) 91 out of 91 found this review helpful
I bought this recently and used it on a trip to Nepal. The zoom allowed me to focus in on the animals well, while still letting me take in the full breadth of the Himalayas. The flexibility of the lighting options (red eye, night flash, red eye and night, etc.) allowed me to take pictures in many variations of light. The 3 different view options allowed me to frame the picture in the way that best suited the variety of my subjects. The film is easy to come by even in Nepal and simple to load. The colors were amazing. It's a great camera to take with you, simple to operate, and still allows you to get quality pictures.
The I Zoom 75 is an impressive, above average APS January 6, 2000 Jack L. Warner (Spotsylvania, Virginia) 34 out of 35 found this review helpful
I found the camera to be extremely easy to operate, the compact size will be excellent for a purse or coat pocket. The instructions should be carefully read; it's a small, 156-page booklet in 5 languages. The Troubleshooting section (p. 124) has back references to the instructions. The purpose of buying this model was to have a simple, point-and-shoot camera for my wife to use, but have a few fun features for myself. Both of us are very pleased with the choice.
Compact quality October 25, 2000 C. Jennings (McCloud) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I've owned Canon Elph 370 and Nikon Nuvis S equalivants and they can't quite compare with the sharp and clear photos this one produces, even with difficult backlight and low light conditions. The very compact size, feather weight and weather resistance make it a backpacker's dream come true.
Great Small APS Camera June 24, 2000 Matt (Marblehead, MA) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
Just got the camera and love it. APS is among few of the overall advantages. It fits right into your smallest pocket and is extremely light weight. The zoom is just about as good as it gets for a camera of its size and the photos are beutiful. Buy this Camera!
